a bit about  Christi
Hey there, I'm so glad you're here!  I'm Christi Brown, owner of Better Light Photography.  I'm a long-time photography junkie. I was born in Oklahoma City, OK where I enjoyed my childhood on a dirt road and a vast acreage. As a young teenager, my family transplanted to Norman, OK. By my sophomore year of high school , I knew I wanted to be a photographer. Shortly after graduation, I enrolled in a local photography school, took classes at night and worked as a preschool teacher during the day. It was exhausting, but oh so worth it!  That was way back in 2001, I've been working in this industry in some capacity ever since.
In 2008, I responded to an ad for a wedding photographer seeking an assistant and second shooter. Little did I know that this would lead me to where I am right now.  I began working with Mike, learning every aspect of wedding photography.  As the years went by, I took on the roles of photo editor, album creator and builder, and lead photographer. We expanded our portfolio and began offering sessions beyond weddings.  Eventually Mike made the decision to retire, and I took over Better Light Photography.  I still call on him for advice and am so grateful for the experience gained while working with him.  While my focus is primarily on babies and children these days, I still enjoy photographing the occasional wedding.
In my personal life, I've been married to my best friend since 2007. We have 3 children, all of whom are always willing models for me, except the youngest, she's a wild little thing!  I have a handful of very close friends. Some of these friendships are older than my love for photography. They've seen me fail, they've seen me succeed, and they've seen me grow into the person I am today. I wouldn't trade them for the world!  When I'm not behind my camera, I can usually be found behind a microphone on karaoke night, or slummin' it on my couch with a ball of yarn and a crochet hook.
My wish for everyone I encounter is this; celebrate life.  Celebrate the accomplishments, commemorate the achievements, find your silver lining lining on the cloudy days (or months, as it may be), bask in the glow of small victories, honor lost loves, and revere those still here. Life if full of many seasons, and every season deserves to be celebrated.

<< Shout-out to my friend, Judy Dawson, for this lovely photo of Mr. Dashing Husband and me! <<
